There are three factors when it comes to string. The first thing is "the number of lines", the second thing is "thickness" and the third one is "tension".

Obviously, the number of lines and thickness of line related with the friction. The more and thicker, the more friction. So if you are a player who are using delicate control and spin, you need to consider this factors. For starter, people usually use "16 x 19 lines" and "1.3mm"

Tension also decide the friction. But the mechanism is different. If the tension is low, the total time for contact is long. It means you have more time to change the ball.
Also, you can feel easy to hit a ball in sweet spot when the tension is low. It is true because the string will extend more than high tension so that ball will move to center a little bit. However, total energy will not be changed.
